Summary

Excite children with the truth about heaven and the new creation。

What will heaven be like? Answering this question for kids can be challenging, especially as it’s hard to get past the myths。

This beautifully illustrated, biblically faithful storybook by Joni Eareckson Tada excites children with this truth—that when Jesus comes back to this world, he will bring heaven with him! There will be a new creation where we’ll have new hearts and a new body, living in a new city。 And best of all, we’ll be with Jesus, forever! It will be better than we can ever imagine。

Kids are encouraged to respond to Jesus’ invitation personally by repenting and believing。 They will also be inspired to invite others, and to ask Jesus to come soon。

What an amazing book! It is filled with beautiful, emotive language, often verging on the poetic, written to explain to children what the Bible really says about heaven, rather than what they may see or hear from a world view。There is also a great explanation of the gospel message in language that younger children will have no trouble in understanding。 As well as being good for parents to read with their children, this would also be a very appropriate resource to use in schools of Sunday schools What an amazing book! In this beautifully illustrated picture book, Joni Eareckson Tada teaches children about heaven and Jesus's return, presenting this through the metaphor of us receiving an invitation to a wonderful, eternal party。 She uses concrete language and examples to help children understand spiritual concepts, and instead of simply presenting heaven as where we go when we die, she focuses on what will happen when Christ returns and joins heaven and earth together。 This book emphasizes the hope of eternal In this beautifully illustrated picture book, Joni Eareckson Tada teaches children about heaven and Jesus's return, presenting this through the metaphor of us receiving an invitation to a wonderful, eternal party。 She uses concrete language and examples to help children understand spiritual concepts, and instead of simply presenting heaven as where we go when we die, she focuses on what will happen when Christ returns and joins heaven and earth together。 This book emphasizes the hope of eternal renewal and healing, and pushes back against dull cultural assumptions to show how wonderful heaven will be。Catalina Echeverri's illustrations are absolutely radiant, visualizing scenes on earth and in heaven。 Her use of color and light is especially engaging here, and the pictures throughout the book convey an emotional sense of beauty and joy。 She also visually contrasts the reality of sin with the joy of having a new heart in heaven, supporting the text through her vivid design。 Also, I love how Tada presents freedom from sin in child-relevant terms, saying, "You won't want to steal cookies, be mean to your friend, or pretend you've brushed your teeth when really you haven't。" RELATABLE。 Tada also shares Scripture references in the author's note at the end, related to specific topics she has covered。The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party Storybook: A True Story about Heaven, Jesus, and the Best Invitation of All is a jubilant, beautiful picture book that Christian families will love。 It is also a great resource for Sunday schools and Christian schools, and there are a number of free supplementary resources that are available on the publisher's website, with coloring pages, crafts, games, and party ideas。 I highly recommend this book, and I am grateful that I had the chance to review it。 This was especially poignant for me because I read it on Easter, and my ailing grandmother died that night。 Easter was such a special day for her to go be with Jesus after years of suffering from dementia, and this book's joyful depiction of our eternal futures deeply encouraged me。I received a free copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

I found this picture book to be whimsy and doctrinally sound。 There is nothing I desire more for my preschooler than for her to accept Jesus’ invitation to heaven through faith in Him as her Saviour。 This vibrantly illustrated pictured book features a diverse set of people and animals as well as depictions of Jesus and heaven that spark the imagination。 Author Joni Eareckson Tada is someone I have long admired and it is an honor to share about this book she has authored。 She begins by talking ab I found this picture book to be whimsy and doctrinally sound。 There is nothing I desire more for my preschooler than for her to accept Jesus’ invitation to heaven through faith in Him as her Saviour。 This vibrantly illustrated pictured book features a diverse set of people and animals as well as depictions of Jesus and heaven that spark the imagination。 Author Joni Eareckson Tada is someone I have long admired and it is an honor to share about this book she has authored。 She begins by talking about the greatest invitation of all time, the invitation Jesus has offered us to enter heaven and spend eternity with Him…She talks about what the Bible says heaven and the new Earth will be like, as well as the new hearts, minds and bodies that we will receive。 It is a joyful celebration of what is to come for Christians, for eternity, and Tada likens it all to a giant party。 She then prompts children to respond to Jesus’ invitation and encourages them to invite their friends, too。 The book wraps up with our own invitations back to Jesus to come quickly。 What an incredible, spiritually sound way to introduce the Gospel message into children’s hearts and minds! I definitely recommend this book。 It would be an excellent addition to any child’s shelf, as well as to schools and libraries。 *I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher。 All thoughts are my own and I was not required to write a positive review。 。。。more

A brand new Tales from the Truth picture book for reading aloud and readers。 I have reviewed other books about heaven and never felt like I had one I could embrace well。 Well, that has changed!Things I liked about the book:Engaging opening: "Have you ever been invited?" Defines the best invitations, "to unforgettable events with amazing people。" Jesus is connected to this teaching about Heaven so intimately, and who He is as our King and Rescuer is established clearly。 John 3:16 paraphrased as the invitation。 In true fashion for this series, myths of heaven are addressed and the Truth of the Bible is taught。The illustrations enhance the descriptive language, and the celebratory tone of the book, and build connections for the reader。 Heaven is described well and with the Truth from the Bible- a place of no more sin as well as splendor and glory。 Things I wonder about the story:Could there have been bible references on the footers or headers of pages that connected to the truth shared? (The author's letter at the end shares verses)。 Is the connection between sin and eternal life clear enough? it's so well written with Truth, and I trust that those who will choose to share this book will also know the Truth。 I'm reviewing a pdf and I wonder if the little picture envelope at the end of the book is just an image or if it is an envelope that opens? Thankful to read an early copy to review this book! thankful to the goodbook company。 。。。more

This lovely book brought me to tears。 Jesus has given an invitation to a party。 What a wonderful way to describe Heaven! Best of all, Jesus will be there and all of us and all of Creation will be worshipping Him。 And unlike parties now, this party will never end。I especially liked the illustration of Joni in her wheelchair and the next picture where she is running with the children!
